LaVerna A. Wilkins, 87, was the youngest of eight children born to Arthur and Lavina Erickson of Orland, CA.  She joins her infant son, parents, one brother and five sisters in heaven.
   Ms. Wilkins is survived by her three children Camille Hoffdahl (Roger), Wayne Wilkins (Shirey) and Darcy Sansoni (Steve). She was blessed by eight grandchildren; Haley, Troy, and Chad Hoffdahl, Ashley, Dane and Logan Wilkins and Casey and Gianna Sansoni as well as one great-grandchild Ayva.  
   LaVerna is survived by her 99 year old brother Edmond Erickson, numerous nieces and nephews. LaVerna loved to spend time with her big family growing up on the farm, she loved to sing and did so with her sisters in trios and quartets on the radio during the 1940’s.  LaVerna was the personnel manager for Sears in San Leandro from 1958-1963, and for Montgomery Wards in Fremont from 1965 until her retirement in 1990, where not a day went by that she wasn’t with one of her children or grandchildren.  She was a wonderful role model for her family, who loved to spend time with her enjoying her positive attitude, sense of humor, love for sports, and her fighting spirit right up until the end. 
   A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA.  She will be laid to rest at a later date at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Orland, CA.
