On Feb. 27, 2014, the Lord called, “Come to me my good and faithful servant.”  Laverne Alice Mungo, age 89 of Manteca, answered His call.  She was born on Nov. 5, 1924, in San Francisco to the late Joseph and Helen Nicholas.  Laverne joins her husband Angelo James Mungo in heaven.

Laverne was an excellent cook, baker, and pianist.  She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings. Laverne was born and raised in San Francisco and after the death of Angelo, she moved her children to Fremont, Calif., where she resided for 42 years.  During this time she worked in the medical field and enjoyed volunteering at St. Rose Hospital in Hayward, Calif., for over 35 years.
