Leona Anne Stricker, 93, entered into rest on April 8, 2010 in Manteca, Ca. She was born on June 20, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Leo and Clara Gniot. Leona joins her husband in heaven Harold C. Stricker.

Mrs. Stricker is survived by her five children; Judy Pollner and husband Harold of Apple Valley, Ca., George Stricker of Oregon, Jeanne Rowen and husband Joseph of Manteca, Nancy Stricker of Oakland, and Joseph Stricker of Arizona. She was blessed with two grandchildren Michelle Acosta and husband Rob of Modesto and Christopher Rowen and wife Elizabeth of Modesto. In addition she has three very special great-grandchildren Harold Rowen of Modesto, Abigail Rowen of Modesto, and soon to be Alison Rowen of Modesto. She has one surviving brother Ray Gniot of Illinois.

Leona was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Manteca. She was a devout Catholic and had a very strong faith in her church and God. Before attending St. Anthony’s; Leona was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Walnut Creek where she did adoration every week. She was an extremely generous woman constituently giving and supporting many different charities. Leona was truly a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother; she was very proud of her children and grandchildren loving them unconditionally.

Mrs. Stricker’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held on Monday April 12, 2010 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. A Rosary Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 525 E. North St. at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery – Escalon, Ca.
