Martin "Marty" Teunissen, 87, entered into rest on April 22, 2012 in Manteca. He was born to the late Anton and Anna Teunissen on February 24, 1926 in Ripon. He joins his parents in heaven as well as his wife Virginia Teunissen, his companion of 37 years, Dorothy Koehn and his siblings, John, Garret, Hank, Bert, Mary, Leo, Annie, Mina, and Joe.

Mr. Teunissen is survived by his children, Andy Teunissen, Nancy Catalano, and Mike Teunissen and wife Sue. He was blessed with eight grandchildren Heidi and husband Dave, Wisper, Antone, Joanna and husband Richard, Terry Lea, Ginny and husband Andrew, Marti and Stephanie and six great-grandchildren. He has two surviving siblings, Julie Hedegard and husband Sandy and Ted Teunissen. In addition, Martin had a second family, The Koehn family, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members who he loved dearly.

Martin was best known to his family and friends as Marty. He was an alumnus of Manteca High School class of 1944. While at Manteca High, Marty was an exceptional athlete playing football and basketball. After high school Marty joined the United States Army proudly serving his country for two years. For most of Marty's life he owned and operated his family farm "MT Ranch" of Manteca. While running the farm and raising his three children Marty also worked in the real estate field, working for both Groen and Cabral. With running the ranch and working real estate, what Marty was best known for was his Christmas tree lot "Marty's Christmas Trees." Marty owned and operated his tree lot for over 58 years which now has been passed down to his 3rd generation. Marty enjoyed traveling to local casino's, spending time with family and socializing with friends. He was a wonderful provider always tending to the needs of his family. Marty will be remembered for his giving heart and his wonderful work ethic that he instilled into his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Teunissen Family. Services will be held on Tuesday May 1st, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. He will be laid to rest at Park View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be send to Alzheimer's Association of Northern California, 1060 La Avenida, Mountain View, CA 94043.
