Mary Dare
December 16, 1943-November 16, 2015
Mary Catherine Dare bw

Mary Dare passed away on November 16, 2015 at the age of 71, with her loving husband, Jack, at her side.
She is preceded in death by her mother Mary Wright, grandparents Peter and Delia Gallagher, and 1st cousin Patricia Gallagher Setzer. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 30 years, Jack. She is also survived by her brother Bob Wright, nieces Christine Changras and Karyn Wright, and nephew Rob Wright and their families.
A native of Sacramento, Mary was raised in Oak Park, graduated from Sacramento HS and attended Sacramento State before embarking on a 30 plus year career with Pac Bell. She rose to Administrator of Program Design for customer
communications and spoke at Bell System conferences across the U.S. She and Jack moved to Manteca in 1986 while she worked at Pac Bell in Dublin. She was awarded much recognition for her insights and high standards.
She was a member of the Soroptimist Club and an avid Raider and Sacramento Kings fan. She had personally met
players such as Kevin Johnson, Charles Barkley and others. She was an early supporter of St. Hope Academy in Oak Park. She never met a person that, no matter their station in life, she would not befriend. In Manteca for over 28 years, she was a constant rock of support and help to those who were fighting addictions she conquered years ago. As a member of the six
Gallagher grandkids (Patty, Bob, Mary, Denny, Michael and Tim), she loved all the Christmases and family gatherings throughout her life. Her sense of humor, intelligence and infectious laugh were her hallmark. She totally embraced her family and Jack. She will be missed by her close friend Donna Hall and so many others. Now in heaven with her Mom and grandparents, she rests peacefully. The family would like to thank Hospice, and special care giver Jackie Koudelka.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, November 23, at 11:30 a.m. at P.L. Fry and Son, 290 North Union Road, Manteca, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances in Mary’s name be made to the Salvation Army or the organization or charity of your choice. For condolences to the family or to sign their on line guest book please visit our website
