Mary Gamez
April 29, 1945-October 24, 2014
Mary Gamez1 bw

Mary Gamez, 69, entered into rest on October 24, 2014 in Reno, NV. She was born on April 29, 1945 in Madera, CA. She joins her husband  Ruben Gamez in heaven.
Mrs. Gamez is survived by her children; Montesa Brownlee (Trent), Ruben Gamez Jr., and Michael Gamez (Terina). She was blessed with eight grandchildren; Miguel, Andrew, Danielle, Travis, Teagan, Amelia, Haylie and Anthony.  She has one surviving brother Paul Robles.
Mary was a devoted Catholic attending both our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She retired after 15 years from Eckert Cold Storage in Manteca and previously worked for Olberti Olive Plant in Madera. Mary believed in giving and helping others regardless of the circumstances; she gave when she herself had nothing. If someone needed a prayer, she lit a candle at church, if it was an ear, she listened, a fever, she sliced potatoes for your head, a neighbor, she shared a cup of coffee, if it was the kids in the neighborhood, she made homemade tortillas and if it was the church, she gave all of herself to all that was needed.
Mom enjoyed simple things in life; a beautiful sunset, a snow capped mountain, a train ride, the holidays with her kids and grandchildren and being with her funny cat, Spunky.
Mom will be missed by so many people, she is now free and in God’s Kingdom. She will be remembered as a devote wife, loving mother, and an amazing grandmother.    In honor of Mary a rosary mass will be held Friday, November 14, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 16200 Cambridge Dr., Lathrop, CA. She will be laid to rest with her husband at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery (at a later date). An online guest book is available at www.plfryandson.com (search obituaries). In lieu of flowers, please donate to the “Gofundme.com/marygamez” Any donations that exceed the goal, will be donated to Colon Cancer Research.
