Mary Virginia Ferreria Machado passed away on May 22, 2016 at Bethany Home in Ripon. Mary was born in Stockton on April 22, 1923.  Mary was the eldest of five children and is survived only by her brother, Tony Ferreria of Brentwood.  Preceded in death by her brother, Joe Ferreria and her sisters, Emily Santos and Gertrude Santos. Mary moved to Ripon in 1951 to raise her family and remained in Ripon throughout her life.  Many will remember her as the always happy and fun loving owner of the Ripon Thrift Shop.  Mary loved Ripon and enjoyed riding her bicycle through the town during her retirement years.
   Mary raised five children; Marilyn Cossey and spouse Darrell Hogan, Manuel Machado (deceased) and spouse, Mariyln, Marlene Fultz and spouse John, Mike Machado and spouse Bert, and Michelle Anderson and spouse Dave.  She also leaves seven grandchildren, Matt Machado, Monica Lent (Jim), Laura O’Leary, Kelly Machado, Michael Machado, Melissa Ballard (Sean), Heather Weichert (Tom).  Also 11 great grandchildren: Clair, Noah and Eva Machado, Camille and Amanda Lent, Logan Machado, Katelyn and Natalie Ballard, Zoe, Lily and Ben Weichert.  Family dinners and events were the highlight of her life.
Mary shared the past twenty years with her longtime companion Aldo Piraino.  Aldo became part of our family and took loving care of Mary.  He passed before her in January, 2015.
She will always be remembered by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.  We will all have our memories!  She is dancing in heaven with her son, Manuel and Aldo.  We love you mom!
   Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapel. The service for Mary will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, on Friday, July 8th at 1:00 p.m.  Burial service at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, followed by a reception at the church hall.  Please come and help us celebrate our precious mother!
