   Melvin “Mike” Loureiro was born 93 years ago on July 7, 1921, on the property that he still lived on, until his death on March 28, 2015.
   He is preceded in death by his wife Frances of 66 years.
   Mike is survived by his children Mel Loureiro, Jr. and Georgiann Rose. He was blessed by five grandchildren; David Rose (Kristie), Brandi Nussbaumer (Scott), Bryan Rose, Michael Loureiro (Stephanie) and Kevin Rose (Nathalie) and eight great-grandchildren.
   In addition Mike is survived by three siblings; Lillian Silveira, Angie Clausen and Georgina Teicheira.  Mike was a lifelong farmer and grape grower of his 20 acres on Lathrop Road in Manteca. He attended Summer Home School and graduated from Manteca High School in 1939. He was a proud Mantecan and loved his community.  While farming, Mike worked at Manteca Cannery and Tri-Valley Growers as a printer. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the M.R.P.S. Hall; where he served as past president in 1973. Mike had a zest for life; his fun loving social personality drew many close friends who loved him dearly. His family was his world as he loved and supported them unconditionally. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.
   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Loureiro family. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. both held at P.L. Fry & Son, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North St., Manteca, CA. He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. At the request of the Loureiro family, donations in memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation (in honor of his late wife) 1455 Response Road, Suite 190 - Sacramento, CA 95815.
