Morris Edwin (Ed) Drake, 89, father, grandfather and great grandfather, entered into rest on August 10, 2015 in Manteca. He was born in Shellbyville, Indiana on February 7, 1926.
He grew up in New Castle, Indiana and served in the U.S. NAVY during WWII. While in the Navy he married Lois Jeanne Helton of Muncie, Indiana. Morris and Jeanne had been married 58 years. She passed away in October of 2003 after a long illness. During his service in the Navy he worked as an aviation, auto and heavy equipment mechanic. He would later become super attendant of the U.S. Forest Service and Stockton Equipment Depot. He retired from the Forest Service after 30 years in January of 1984. He then started his own business of lawnmower sales and service and operated it for nine years.
   Mr. Drake is survived by his sons Morris Edwin (Eddie) Drake II. of Porterville, Thomas D.  Drake and wife Joni of Stockton, and daughter Marjorie Marie Littlefield and husband Eddy of Siloam Spring, Arkansas. He was blessed with one grandchild Shyatesa Drake of Stockton and one great grandchild Logan Thomas Simoni.        
   P.L. Fry and Son is honored to serve the Drake family. A Chapel service will be held in his honor on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca.  He will be laid to rest with honors at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W.
