Our Heavenly Father took Nancy Ann Dickerson, 71, home unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008.
She was born Sept. 23, 1937 in Oakland to the late Manuel and Adeline Tavis. She resided in Manteca for the last 8 years, previously of San Lorenzo.

Nancy leaves behind her three children; Tina Davis of San Lorenzo, Daniel Dickerson and wife Sue, Mark Dickerson and wife Linda all of Manteca; six grandchildren Steven Howry and wife Ashley of Pittsburg, CA, Daniel Howry of San Lorenzo, Daryl Dickerson of Manteca, Stacy Davis of San Lorenzo, Carley Dickerson, and Kyle Dickerson both of Manteca; great granddaughter Lillian Howry of Pittsburg, CA; sister Virginia Zotti of Las Vegas, NV; and Molly, her cherished Shih Tzu.

Ms. Dickerson was an amazing woman; most would tell you that she was the most giving person you’d ever meet. She was always very loving and generous, never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She was a devoted mother, and adoring Nana. One of her greatest joys in life was when she became a great grandma. Nancy loved crocheting, reading and cooking. Many nights the family would find themselves at Nana’s house enjoying her famous scrimp scampi.

Nancy truly had a heart of gold. She was treasured dearly by her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Tavis and Adeline Silva and her granddaughter, Michelle Dickerson. A Celebration of life is being held Monday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 209 N. Union Road, Manteca.
