Nickola Stevan Kakarigi passed away peacefully on December 24, in Manteca at the age of 69.  Nick was born on October 12, 1952 in Oakland, CA to Stevan and Mellie Kakarigi.  He has been a resident of Manteca for the past 14 years.
   Nick worked for several years for HVAC Sheet Metal Workers 104 before retiring. He loved to take camping trips to Woodward Reservoir with his family.  Nick also enjoyed building model trains and improving his golf game.  Nick will be remembered for his love of singing and his incredible voice.  He was a singer and director at St. George Church Choir in Oakland, CA.  He was also a member of Mlada Srbadija Tumburitza Orchestra and the St. Sava Mission Choir.  He absolutely love karaoke and Elvis.  Above all else, Nick loved his family, especially his precious grandchildren who were the joy of his life.  His larger than life personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
   Nick leaves behind his loving wife of 16 years and together for 26 years, Terri Kakarigi, his mother, Mellie Kakarigi, his children, Todd Kovacs (Adena), Tim Kovacs (Michelle), Kevin Kovacs (Jennifer), Nicole Kakarigi Gallardo (Gerald), Kris Kovacs (Taylor), Stevan “Nicky” Kakarigi (Gabbi) and Johnny Kakarigi (Jessica) along with his 21 grandchildren.  Nick also leaves behind his siblings, Michael Kakarigi and Alexa Vezmar (Milan) along with several other extended family members.  Nick is preceded in death by his father, Stevan Kakarigi.
   Deegan Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Kakarigi family.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 with a viewing starting at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel, followed by committal at Parkview Cemetery.  Due to COVID precautions, Nick’s family is planning a celebration of his life later this year when weather permits.  Donations in Nick’s memory may be made to St. Sava Camp; PO Box 965 Jackson, CA, 95642.
