Ouida Ruth Torries, 84, entered into rest on November 3, 2012 at her home in Manteca. She was born November 7, 1927 in Peter Pender, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ora Staton. Ouida is also preceded in death by her first husband Lou Torries and her son Vince Torries.

Ouida leaves behind her loving husband, Sander Severson of Manteca. Her children are, Jim Torres and wife Annette of Livermore, Carolyn Webster and husband Pat of Rio Vista, Cathy Torres and husband Gus of Sebastopol, and Linda Torres of Santa Rosa. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Joshua Barley of San Jose, Nicole Anderson of Livermore, Melissa Martinez of Livermore, Linden Kerns of San Rosa, David Barley of Manteca, Bohn Kerns of L.A., and Emily Mangis of Sebastopol.

Ouida was a Manteca resident previously of Salida. She enjoyed spending time with her family and treasured her grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed playing cards, puzzles and reading books. Ouida looked forward to family get-togethers. She had an optimistic personality and always found the good in everyone. Ouida will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly.

P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the Torries family. A service will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm at P.L. Fry and Son, 290 North Union Road, Manteca.
