Paula, or “Grammy” as she was known by her family and many friends, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family on March 6th, 2023 after a 4 month long battle with Alzheimer's. Paula was born in Meridian, Mississippi on January 8, 1947 to William D. and Virginia McRoy. She was very proud of her roots of being from the south, every once in a while her southern drawl would come out.
Paula was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her favorite hobbies were loving her grandchildren, slot machines, poker nights with friends and family, long road trips, Disneyland trips, watching the LA Dodgers and shopping at Macy’s, TJ Maxx and Homegoods with her girls. She loved all things glitz and glam and was always the life of the party. Paula worked for the family home building company, McRoy-Wilbur, as a customer service representative for 25 years. She worked in subdivisions in various locations including Ripon, Modesto, Salida, Tracy, Escalon, and Hilmar. Her bright smile and friendly personality could light up any room, anytime. She will be deeply missed by anyone who knew her.
Paula is preceded in death by her father and mother Bill and Virginia McRoy, brother Mike McRoy, and granddaughter Julie Dann Mello. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Randy Morris, Siblings: David and Linda McRoy, Marcia McRoy, Bob and June Morris, Keith and Robin Divine, children, Jimmy and Kristen Morris, Kenny and Wendy Hoogendoorn, 10 grandchildren, one great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Seva Hospice of Salida for their loving and tender care for our Grammy.
