Peggy Rogers, 79, entered into eternal rest on Nov. 17 surrounded by her family. Peggy joins her beloved husband Ronald Rogers, parents and brothers in heaven. Peggy was born Sept. 19, 1931 in Hammond, Indiana, and married Buck Payette before moving to California in 1951.

Peggy became a longtime resident of Newark in 1977 and was remarried to Ronald Rogers. Peggy was an administrative assistant for 30 years in the sign industry. Once retired, Peggy relocated to Manteca in 2004. She was a proud member of the Women of the Moose. Peggy was a simple person who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. Family was most important to her and she never let a day go by without letting her family know it. She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with her family and friends. Peggy had a loving and open heart and never knew a stranger. With Peggy you always knew you had a place at her table, and a place to stay.

Peggy will be forever remembered by her children Debbie Payette, Linda Williams, Charles Payette and Leona Payette. She was preceded into heaven by sons Steven and Craig Payette. Peggy was a loving grandmother to Jennifer Keifer, Steven Williams, Richard Padilla, Casey Markovich, James Williams, Kevin Markovich, Lindsay Williams, Samantha and Christine Sloss. Peggy was a beloved great-grandmother to Dominic, Noah and Caleb Keifer, Natalie Williams, and Bradley Padilla.

Services will be at the Chapel of the Chimes located at 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward. Viewing will be on Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Burial services will be Wednesday Nov. 24 at 10:00 a.m.
