Robert Daniel Gunn was born January 9th, 1988. He came into this world unexpectedly six weeks early, weighing four pounds four ounces, in Berkeley, CA, at Alta Bates Hospital. He passed away on June 21, 2010 at the age of twenty-two.

He graduated from Escalon High School in 2006.  In 2003, Robert and his brothers were recognized as heroes for saving an elderly man from his burning home.  From the age of seven he excelled at mechanics. He loved go-karts, lifted trucks, street bikes, anything he could put a wrench on. He was always willing to help a friend or stranger.  He loved to go fast; unfortunately he won the race to heaven.

Robert is survived by his parents, Kevin and Cyndi Gunn, sister Jodi Hansen, brothers, Kevin and Joe Gunn, and a number of extended family, friends and loved ones.

Public visitation will be at Deegan Funeral Chapel between 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 1. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 2, at 1 p.m. at Escalon Covenant Church, 1155 Escalon Ave. Private burial procession will be at Burwood Cemetery, but those who want to pay their respects can go to Robert’s home at 19022 S. Von Glahn Road, Escalon, CA 95320 for a celebration of life with family, friends and loved ones immediately following.
