Russell Henry Neumann, Sr. passed away peacefully on August 29, 2022 at the age of 90. Russ was born on May 10, 1932 in Mt. Vernon, New York to parents, Harold and Margaret Neumann. 

Russ has been a resident of Ripon for 24 years. After serving in the army, Russ married Ann Marie Roda in the Bronx, NY in 1955. Russ worked for Dana Corporation and each promotion meant a move…Clifton, NJ, Richmond, VA, Hagerstown, IN, Toledo OH, Manteca, CA, Dallas, TX, Greenville, SC, retiring in Ripon, CA to be near their children. Everywhere Russ lived he was a community leader and involved within the Catholic Church. Russ enjoyed woodworking and used his talent making items for their home and for the Church. Russ also enjoyed many sports, including golf and playing pool at the Ripon Senior Center where he made many friends. Many thanks to Bethany Home for their loving care. Russ was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Men of St. Patrick’s. Above all else, Russ was a family man, a faithful husband, devoted father and grandfather.

Russ leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Ann Marie Neumann, his children, Russ Neumann, Jr. and Cathy Moye (Steve), his grandchildren, Chelsea Zeppa (Peter) and Dean Moye. Also his siblings Carol Neumann, Chris Neumann (Kathy), and Susan Calcagni (John).

Russ is preceded in death by his parents and his son Michael Neumann.

Deegan Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Neumann family. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 with Viewing at 

12:00 p.m., Rosary at 12:30 p,m. and Mass at 1:00  p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ripon, followed by burial at St John’s Cemetery.
