Born on November 12, 1926 in Pittsburg, California, Sam Bologna entered into rest on February 24, 2018 in Sutherlin, Oregon at the age of 91. Sam left behind his loving wife of 41 years, Norma Jean as well as three step-children, Judith Ingram of Sutherlin, OR, Russell Baker of Arab, AL and John Baker of Williford, AR.
   Prior to moving to Sutherlin, OR, Sam was a Manteca resident for 89 years. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and retired from Tri Valley Cannery as a forklift operator. He was very active in the Manteca community serving as a volunteer docent with the Manteca Museum, San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department and S.T.A.R.S. He also built models of Manteca High School and Yosemite Grammar Schools which are on display in the museum and was awarded Artist of the Year in 2004 by the Mayor’s Committee on the Arts.
   Sam and his wife traveled to all 50 States on two occasions: to collect dirt from each State Capitol grounds and to sleep in a tent in each state; the latter done at the age of 80!
   P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home are honored to serve the Bologna Family. Friends are invited to a celebration of life on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Chez Shari Manteca Golf Course.  A private burial will follow at East Union Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.  An online guest book is available for condolences to the family at www.plfryandson.com
