Sylvia F. (Vierra) Rocha, 76, died on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, in Escalon.  She was born on June 3, 1934 in Tracy and was a resident of Escalon for 19 years, prior to that, in Manteca for 22 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Joseph “Eddie” Rocha, and her father, the late Joseph Vierra.

She is survived by her mother, Florence Vierra; children, Roseline and Arnold Rothlin of Manteca, Tina and Robert Machado of Escalon, and Jeanne Rocha of Lathrop; siblings, Doris Kooyman of Lodi, Beatrice and Jack Luis of Manteca; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, the late Jay Rocha, and her brother, the late Gilbert Vierra.

Mrs. Rocha enjoyed golfing and bowling. She loved to do arts and crafts. She loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 28, from 1 to 5 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. Rosary/mass will be held on Friday, Oct. 29, at noon at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 19399 E. Highway 120, Ripon, CA 95366. Final resting place will be St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 S. Carrolton Road, Escalon.
