Tom F. Smith, age 82, entered rest on September 12, 2013 in Manteca. He was born on May 16, 1931 in Madill, Oklahoma. He was a resident of Manteca for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Darryl Smith and his brother, Buster E. Smith.
   Tom is survived by his loving wife, Joann Smith of Manteca, his daughter, Leisa (Dale) Russell of Escalon and two step children, Susan Moore of Tracy and Jon (Debbie) Myers of Pleasanton. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Brian (Holly) Smith, Bradley Smith, Dale (Lisa) Russell, Zachary (Tiffany) Russell, Courtney Russell and Jordynn Russell, two step grandchildren, Joshua Moore and Samuel Moore and six great grandchildren, Emma, Cash, Paitynn, Reagan, Camrynn and Katie. Tom also leaves behind one brother, William Harold Smith of Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
   Tom served in the US Air Force in the Korean War. He was a Lieutenant at the Lawrence Livermore Lab security department. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising sheep.  Tom was a former sheep leader for the Van Allen 4-H Club.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  He will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
   PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, is honored to be serving the family of Tom Smith. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 10:30am, at Crossroads Grace Community Church, Manteca.
