Back to the future: Train service returning to downtown Manteca after 94 year hiatus

This is what the North Lathrop Transfer Station at Sharpe Depot, planned by ACE, will look like. The station will be a mile west of Manteca’s city limits on Lathrop Road. It will include a center-loaded platform as well as parking and supporting infrastructure.

In two or so years, if so desired, anyone in Manteca’s original pre-1960 neighborhoods can walk less than a mile and board a train for San Jose or Sacramento.
