In praise of all doctors do

On the occasion of National Doctors Day, March 30, I wanted to let you know on behalf of all of us here on the Doctors Hospital of Manteca team how much we truly appreciate having you on our Medical Staff.  Doctors Day also marks the anniversary of the first use of general anesthesia in surgery.  This is significant symbology because, as a profession, Medical Doctors are not “passive”.  That is; throughout history, physicians have been much more than treaters of disease – they have been scientists consistently advancing the cause of greater society through research, innovation, and action.

Having come from a large, highly political, extremely contentious medical staff at another hospital, I perhaps more than most can attest to how great the DHM Medical Staff truly is.  Your contributions to our success are evident every day.  We sincerely hope that the name “Doctors Hospital” is not just a name, but a true symbol of partnership between hospital staff and physicians.

Thank you for all that you do for our patients, our communities, and all of us here at the hospital.  We truly wouldn’t be who we are without you.  Though we celebrate formally on one day – please believe that we are thankful each of the other 364 days as well.  May you enjoy success, happiness, and health every day.
