Dominguez leads TWolves to 200

Sierra High head coach Jeff Williams stated at the beginning of the season that it was the T’Wolves’ goal to shoot around 200 as a team consistently this year.

Led by Miguel Dominguez’s 1-under-par 36 Wednesday afternoon at Manteca Park Golf Course, the T’Wolves hit their mark, shooting a 200 in a win over Weston Ranch.

The Cougars traveled just four golfers and were saddled with a disqualification.

Ryan Ortiz paced Weston Ranch with a 49.

But the day belonged to the T’Wolves and Dominguez, who could’ve finished two under had it not been for a bogey on nine.

“I’m proud of Miguel,” Williams said. “We met our first goal – we’re right where we want to be.”

Joey Matts finished with a 40, and both Luis Zepeda and Sammy Matts shot 41.

Michael Hajenga and Paul Michaleto turned in 42’s.

“I’m proud of the effort coming off the Oakdale win,” Williams said.

Sierra (4-0 Valley Oak League, 6-0 overall) faces two tough test next week.

Up first is a match with Manteca Wednesday, before Sonora comes calling Thursday.
