Four Spartans make All-WAC second team

Four Lathrop players the All-Western Athletic Conference second team, and none of them are seniors.
The 2019 Spartans (2-5 WAC, 2-8 overall) featured 14 juniors and nine sophomores. They ended the season with a thrilling 45-39 victory over Mountain House in the second Old River Rivalry game.
Making all-league are sophomore receiver Jason Seabron Jr., second-year junior offensive lineman Kevin Ballesteros, sophomore defensive end Harold Gary and junior defensive back Joey Sanchis.
Seabron flashed his game-breaking abilities throughout the season but his best moments against Mountain House, burning the Mustangs for nine catches, 95 yards and four touchdowns. He also had a 72-yard kickoff return for a touchdown after Lathrop had fallen behind, 14-0.
Sanchis also had a productive season from the other receiver spot. Defensively, he had 41 tackles and a team-high three interceptions. Gary accumulated 57 tackles, 10 for losses, and two sacks.
Greg Bockman was named All-WAC Coach of the Year after leading Beyer (6-1, 7-4) to the outright championship. The Patriots were winless in 2018.
Other major award winners: Davis quarterback Elijah Davis (MVP), Los Banos running back Justin Incaprera (Offensive Player of the Year), Los Banos linebacker Adrian Atangan (Defensive Player of the Year), Johansen’s Jacob Bojorquez (Offensive Lineman of the Year) and Beyer’s Raul Garcia (Defensive Lineman of the Year).
