Lathrop could not get its Wing-T offense untracked last Friday in Sacramento, where host Bradshaw Christian rolled to a 41-7 victory.

The Pride (1-1) scored 34 unanswered points before Lathrop finally broke through with Andre Muqhar’s 3-yard touchdown with 3:21 left in the third quarter. He led the Spartans with 96 yards on 16 rushes.

Lathrop was limited to 160 yards of offense and was unable to complete its six passes, two of which were intercepted.

Bradshaw also uses a physical, run-based offense but was able to balance its attack. Ethan Rickert finished 5-of-6 passing for 123 yards and two touchdowns, and the Pride rumbled for 341 rushing yards. Leading the charge was the backfield triumvirate of Brandon Burden (10 rushes, 90 yards, TD), Mateo Mojica (13-102-1) and Nathan Zeppieri (6-131-2).

Linebacker Michael Adams and safety Jimari Dove paced the Lathrop defense with six tackles apiece.

The Spartans dropped to 0-2 and welcome Weston Ranch this week for the Battle of I-5.

Sonora 43, Ripon 0

At Dunlavy Field, Ripon (1-1) was held to 113 yards of offense, while the Wildcats (1-1) jolted to a 22-0 halftime lead. Sonora has won seven straight against the Indians.

Fullback Audie Peeples accounted for three touchdowns runs for Sonora. With the run game stifled, Ripon quarterback Ty Herrin completed 11 passes to five different receivers for 75 yards. Anden Ries had just 18 yards on five carries, while wingback Xzavier Clark rushed for five yards and caught two passes for 19 yards.

Ripon will look to rebound in its home opener this Friday against East Union.
