Following a scoreless first half the Sierra Timberwolves scored two third-quarter touchdowns to claim a 14-6 victory over East Union High in Valley Oak  League sophomore football action.

 Adrian Saucedo returned the kickoff after the second Sierra touchdown 70 yards to put the Lancers on the board. East Union had one more serious threat but it ended with an interception.

 

Ruben Gallegos, Anthony Cook, Mason James and Adrian Sauceda all played well for the Lancers.

C. Catholic 23, Lathrop 21

mistakes and special-teams breakdowns by the Lathrop sophomores handed Central Catholic 23 points in a win for the Raiders.

 The Raiders scored on a kickoff return, punt return, following a long fumble return and on a safety and led just 19-14 at the end of the first half.

 The Spartans took an early lead when they chewed up seven minutes to start the game before Harvey Cuellar scored on a 3-yard run. Idowu Olalege (9 of 15 passing, 169 yards) added touchdown passes to Anthony Santos of 40 and 60 yards.

 Santos and Donald Garland each had an interception for Lathrop.



Manteca 32,
Weston Ranch 0

The Buffaloes put up 26 second-half points.

 Cameron Beamon ran for two Manteca touchdowns and Jose Garcia caught a pair of touchdown passes.

 Joey Goodman had a safety and Devyn Gonzalez and Gerson Gomez each had six tackles.
