Manteca overcomes Gavino, Sierra

Four Buffaloes finished with 51s, and Manteca improved to 4-3 in the Valley Oak League with its 257-309 win over Sierra at Manteca Park Golf Course on Thursday.

Bryanna Gavino of Sierra (1-5) was low medalist with an 8-over 45.

Scoring 51s for Manteca were Bella Gonzales, Kylee Eberlee, Michaela Pangburn and Meghan Garlets. Taylor Reed added a 53.

Hailee Looney contributed a 54 for the Timberwolves. Hallie Trzcinski (68), Balkirsat Kaur (70) and Desiree Mejias (72) also scored.

 

Valley Foothill League

Ripon 164, Bret Harte 177

RIPON — The defending VFL North Division champion Indians won their first match of the season after dropping their first three. 

Bianca Toledo finished 7-over 39 for medalist honors. Myra Toledo scored a 40, Emily Harris a 41 and Kassidy Isham a 44.

Jessie Thompsn led Bret Harte (3-2) with a 40.

“The girls are working hard on their games,” Ripon coach Eric Dambrosio said. “They have improved since the beginning of the season. Hopefully they continue to progress.”
