LODI — Ripon High’s girls golf team has returned to championship form after seizing a title share Monday by winning the Valley Foothill League North Division Tournament at Micke Grove Golf Links.
And the Indians, who have earned titles in three of the past four seasons, are set up well for the future.
“I get all four girls back for next season,” Ripon coach Eric Dambrosio said.
Ripon freshman Zoe Bremer was low medalist with a season-low 86, and all four of the Indians’ scorers finished in the top 10 for a total first-place score of 375. Fellow co-champ Bret Harte was the runner-up with a 393. Bret Harte (16-0, 60 points) narrowly defeated Ripon (14-2, 60) twice in dual matches, but the Indians won both the mid-season and year-end VFL North tourneys to force the share.
Argonaut’s Kaylee Weaver placed second individually with a 90. Ripon’s Kassidy Isham and Jessie Thomson of Bret Harte each followed with a 93. Bianca Toledo (sixth, 95) and Myra Toledo (ninth, 101) capped Ripon scoring. Haley Meece (115) and Adriana DiGuilio (125) also competed for the Indians.
Argonaut and Summerville placed third and fourth, respectively, and will join Ripon and Bret Harte at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V Tournament next Monday at Micke Grove.

VFL South
LODI — Ripon Christian failed to advance to the SJS Division V Tournament as a team but will be represented by three individuals.
Madi De Graaf secured her section berth with a 97 score that was good for third place. She’ll be joined by teammates Perris Larson (16th, 112) and Saylor De Abreu (17th, 113). The Knights ended up fourth as a team with a 453.
Hughson (11-1, 44 points) held off Livingston (10-2, 42) for the league title. Livingston edged out Hughson by eight strokes with a 402 score in the final tournament. Hilmar joins them as a section team qualifier.

Valley Oak League
East Union is moving on to the SJS Division III Tournament hosted at Rancho Del Rey Golf Club in Atwater next Monday.
The Lancers wound up third in league after scoring a 503 behind repeat champion Oakdale (418) and Kimball (495) at Manteca Park Golf Course. Six individual qualifiers, including four area golfers, qualify for the section tournament along with the top three teams.
Oakdale’s Madi Blanc secured MVP honors with a 4-over 76. All six of Oakdale’s players placed in the top eight, including runner-up Taylor Stewart (79).
East Union’s Michelle Evan took fifth with a 90 and was the top finisher from the area. Melinda Amick (102), Kennedy Goodnough (102), Tiana Torrice (103) and Brittney Barrington (106) were the Lancers’ other scoring contributors.
Manteca was fourth as a team with a 562. Bella Gonzales (94), Kylee Eberle (100) and Sophia Serrano (110) earned spots to the divisional tourney as individuals. Sierra’s Bryanna Gavino (100) also qualified. The Timberwolves and Weston Ranch did not field full teams.
