Guzmans 33 helps Lathrop establish new school record

TRACY — Lathrop High set a program record in boys golf with its outstanding effort at Old River Golf Course on Tuesday, shooting a 214 score in a Valley Oak League win over Weston Ranch.
The Cougars forfeited for not fielding enough players.
Christian Guzman carded a season-best 3-under 33 on the links-style front nine. Mads Boellert finished 1-over 37, and Luke Marcello added a 39. Andrew Lam and Salvador Reyes added a 52 and 53, respectively.
Justin Ordner led Weston Ranch with a 47. Jesus Guerrero (60), Skyler Nguyen (64) and Jacob McClintock (72) followed.

Kimball 262
TRACY — Manteca’s Matsua Garcia Mendez and Kimballs Inigo Jacque were co-medalists with 43s at Tracy Country Club.
The Buffaloes (3-6, 4-8) won it with better play from their third pair. Nathan Ibe contributed a 47, while only four strokes separated Marc Buenrostro (50), Isaac Bill (51) and Saleem Safi (54).
Kimball got sub-50 scores from Dominic Leduc (47) and Colby Bontin (49).

Oakdale 200,
East Union 243
Oakdale’s march to the VOL title continued with its dominant win over second-place East Union (7-2).
The Mustangs were paced by Ryan Meyer’s 1-under 36 at Manteca Park Golf Course, and David Myrtakis was co-runner-up with a 38.
Ty Griggs scored a 38 for East Union and was followed by Dawson Mix’s 50, Brandon Ugalino’s 51, Kyle Dorland’s 51 and Gabriel Espinosa’s 53.

Escalon 237, Ripon 259
OAKDALE — Nico Ilardi recorded a 44 to lead Ripon (4-2). Escalon’s Danny Bava also had a 44.
Other Ripon scorers were Cade McCusker (46), Seth Whitley (52), Aidan Nilsson (56) and Kenny Johnson (61).
