STOCKTON — Leah Manuleleua and the Manteca girls soccer team are off and running after stomping Chavez 8-0 in the season opener for both squads.
The fourth-year standout scored four consecutive goals at one point for the Buffaloes, who have reached the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III finals the past two seasons.
Jasmine Basuil helped start the rout by tallying the first of her two assists with a feed to Ivy Venson. Kaitlynn Funsch doubled the lead before Manuleleua went on her scoring spree. Alexa Mayen and Sarah Vegas capped scoring for the Buffaloes. Jocelyn Reyes contributed an assist.
