Ripon Christian’s Carter Van Groningen and Hudson Schenk placed 1-2 at even-par 59 and 60, respectively, in the TVL Tournament No. 2 at River Oaks Golf Course.

That was not enough to overcome reigning champion Ripon, however. The Indians topped the team standings with a 326 score and were followed by Ripon Christian (335), Hughson (368), Sonora (381), Hilmar (400) and Escalon (423).

Ripon’s Cru Sullivan finished as co-runner-up with a 60. Teammate Alan Bunchien (62) took fourth. Andrew Bogetti (67), Richie Hughes (67) and Ivan Castillo (70) were the Indians’ other scoring contributors.

Freshman Thomas Graham pitched in a 65 for the Knights. Jeremy Molloy (74) and Blake Stuitt (77) rounded out their score.

The next TVL tourney is on March 19 at Teleli Golf Course.
