Ripon High defeated visiting Modesto High on Saturday 35-20 in non-league girls’ basketball action.

“We started off slowly,” Indians coach George Contente said. “But we picked it up in the second half.

“It was a good game for us to fight for adversity.”

Zaire Davis led Ripon (13-11) with 11 points and Karissa Carlson and Jourdy Richter each added seven points.

Ripon travels to Riverbank Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. Trans Valley League encounter.
