Ripon second, RC fourth in Yellowjacket Invitational

The region’s small-school leagues were well represented in the Yellowjacket Invitational won by host Hilmar Monday at Stevinson Ranch Golf Club.

Ripon was the runner-up to its Trans-Valley League rival with a four-man score of 331. Hilmar topped the 19-team field with a 324, and Modesto Christian’s Kyle Intorf was the individual medalist with a 2-under 70.

Bret Harte of the Mother Lode League was third with a 337 and was followed by Southern League contender Ripon Christian’s 343.

Ripon and Hilmar each had two players place in the top five behind Intorf. Nick Sharp and Kyle Head carded a 76 and 77 for third and fifth place for Ripon, respectively. Nathan Suender (85) and Jack Brierly (93) also factored into the scoring.

Kyle Colyn spearheaded Ripon Christian with an 82 and was followed by Christian Manes’ 83, Andrew Manes’ 85 and Brandon Dotinga’s 95.
