Ripon High’s first-round playoff baseball game against Capital Christian of Sacramento was postponed Tuesday morning due to rain.

Both Sac-Joaquin Section Division-V games at Tony Zupo Field in Lodi — the other being Hilmar vs. Summerville — have been moved to Friday at Galt Community Park. There were also nine softball playoff games that rained out.

Times remain the same for the D-V openers, as Ripon (13-9-1) and Capital Christian (16-6) square off at 4 p.m., while the Summerville-Hilmar matchup follows at 7.

Morning showers are forecasted, but if the field is deemed playable today’s originally-scheduled games (Escalon-Lindhurst, Marysville-Calaveras) will go on.

The postponement could affect two Manteca clubs should either one or both advance to the second round.

The winner of the postponed Division-V contests were supposed to meet Saturday at 9 a.m. but due to travel considerations the second-round game was rescheduled for 3 p.m.

In Division-IV play, the Central Catholic-Manteca winner takes on the East Union-Galt winner at 9 a.m. Saturday at Zupo Field.

Manteca (17-8), which defeated River City 5-0 in Mondays out-bracket game, plays at 4 p.m. Thursday, while East Union (15-6) will go at 7 p.m.
