Misa Church of Deer Valley was the individual medalist with a 2-over-par 74, while Valley Oak League-leading Oakdale claimed the team title in the annual Sierra Invitational held at Manteca Park Golf Course on Wednesday.
Thirteen schools were represented in the tournament. Oakdale handily captured the championship with a 421 and was led by Madison Blanc’s individual third-place score of 79.
Only five strokes separated the next three teams, with Oak Ridge (461), Heritage (462) and East Union (466) following suit. Heritage’s Aiyanna Cristico finished as the runner-up with a 78. Manteca took ninth with a 574.
Melinda Amick and Michelle Evan each paced East Union with a 90. Kennedy Goodnough and Tianna Torrice checked in with 95s, and Britteny Barrinston added a 96.
Manteca was led by Kylee Eberle’s 100. Bella Gonzales (102), Sophie Serrano (112), Mohrgen Kissee (124) and Bianca Anaya (136) rounded out scoring for the Buffaloes.
Tourney host Sierra did not field a full team. Bryanna Gavino was the Timberwolves’ top finisher with a 96, Julie Erdman scored a 106 and Hailee Looney a 126.
Del Oro (483), Deer Valley (495), Modesto (534), Rocklin (564) Vacaville (592) and El Capitan (DNQ) also participated.

RIPON — Jordynn Russell accumulated eight aces, helping Ripon (7-2, 17-6 overall) rally for a 25-13, 23-25, 25-12, 25-14 Trans Valley League victory over the Wolves (3-5, 7-9).
Sydney Thomason hit a team-high 14 kills to go with two blocks, Mia Van Lewen picked up 11 digs and Rachel Sausedo set 25 assists.
The Indians host rival Escalon next Wednesday, Oct. 10.

RIPON — The Indians swept 25-10, 25-14 to improve to 4-1 in the TVL and 16-3 overall.
Brooke Brogan blasted five kills, Tanea Dayak served 10 aces and Reese Hansen was the assist leader.
