Manteca’s girls tennis team won two scrimmage matches earlier this week with four freshman newcomers debuting in the singles ladder.
The Buffaloes took care of Pitman on Monday 7-2 and battered Bear Creek on Tuesday, 8-1.
Freshman Hailie Kim dusted both of her opponents by 6-0, 6-0 scores from the No. 1 spot. In fact, the Buffs swept all six singles matches in both contests.
Fourth-year senior Shreya Raman won 6-3, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. No. 4 Paisley Coenenberg, a third-year junior, fended off Pitman’s Briar Amrit 6-4, 6-4 before blanking her Bear Creek opponent, 6-0, 6-0.
No. 3 Saihaj Ghuman prevailed in both of her matches, 6-1, 6-1. Fellow freshman Rae Limbago was tested from the No. 5 rung, as she edged Pitman’s Juliette Brayt 6-4, 7-5 and held off Bear Creek’s Brielle Ladion, 7-5, 6-2.
At No. 6 singles, Ekam Ghuman dispatched Ava Pourkakiani of Pitman 6-4, 6-4 and quickly won her second match of the week, 6-0, 6-1.
Doubles veterans Alyson Alvarado and Delialah Sanchez Torres took care of business. The No. 2 pair won against Pitman 7-5, 6-0 and closed the week with a 6-4, 6-2 victory. The No. 3 team of Ryan Gomes and Estefenia Gonzalez outlasted Bear Creek’s Kaili Perez and Charlize Beiania, 6-3, 3-6, 10-5.
The Buffaloes play their first official match of the season next Tuesday at Weston Ranch.

The reigning Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV champion Indians hosted the Foundation Game on Tuesday and rolled to a 25-4, 25-16, 25-16 win.
Ashlyn Malone paced them with 11 kills and seven aces, and setter Alayna Sprinkle registered 23 assists, two kills and three aces.
Ripon also had front-row contributions from Jorie Eskes (five kills, three blocks), Adrianna Dorn (seven kills, three aces, six digs), Olivia Newman (three kills, four blocks) and Elysa Meineke (two kills, three blocks).
