Nick Sharp finished 3-over par with a 39 at Spring Creek Golf & Country Club, leading Ripon to a 214-249 victory Friday over visiting Escalon.

The Indians improved to 7-0 as they begin the second half of their Trans-Valley League schedule alone in first place.

Kyle Head ended up a stroke shy of low-medalist Sharp. Jack Brierly contributed with a 43 and Robbie Figeroid and Nathan Suender each contributed a 46.

“The rest of the league is probably a little bit surprised because Hilmar was supposed to kind of run through everyone this year,” Ripon coach Chris Musseman said. “My kids put in a lot of hard work in the offseason and it’s showing. We still have a long way to go, though.”
