Lathrop atoned for last year’s defeat to Franklin with a 25-20, 25-18, 25-14 sweep of the visiting Yellowjackets on Monday in non-league volleyball action.

 “This team beat us last year,” Spartans coach Pamela Carroll-Adams said. “So it was good to beat them this year.

 “We could have played better, but all in all it was an awesome game and we took home a victory.”

 Fasha Hayes and Joy Bautista racked up seven aces apiece for Lathrop (3-1). Karissa Kammen had five kills, Raquel Haro nine assists and Bautista eight assists.

 The Spartans sophomores won 25-16, 25-16 and the Lathrop freshen started to program-wide sweep 25-18, 25-9.
