Weston Ranch High senior Jazmin Strane has been awarded a National Leadership Grant sponsored by the National College Scouting Association and NFL Players Association.

The four-year girls basketball star is one of a select few student athletes picked from a nationwide pool. Awardees are recognized for leadership in their community and achievement in both academics and athletics. Applicants are required to submit an essay.

The grant will serve as financial aid for Strane as she takes her game to the next level. She led the Cougars to a program record 21-9 record and a third-place finish in the Valley Oak League with an 11-3 record. The 6-foot forward averaged 12.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.2 steals, three assists and two blocks per game.
