VOLLEYBALL: Lathrop takes care of Franklin for 1st win

Lathrop’s girls volleyball team swept visiting Franklin on Monday 25-15, 25-20, 25-15 for its first win of the season.

The Spartans were coming off an 0-3 showing at the Stockton Classic, dropping each of the best-of-three contests in three sets.

Siliana Fa’ataualofa anchored the attack with seven kills and four aces. Ayden Petroff added five kills, six assists and two aces. Erin Chunn also had five kills and two aces.

Freshman setter Sariah Hilton pitched in 13 assists and six aces. Jadore Dixon added five aces, and Justine Mabutas led the defense with three digs.

 

Junior varsity

Lathrop 2, Franklin 0

Alexza Bringas amassed seven service aces and six assists, as Lathrop took care of business, 25-14, 25-13.

Audrina Fisher registered four kills, a block and an ace. Cassidy Fa’ali’i added three aces, Miranda Rivera had two kills and Janelle Ochinang had two assists and two digs.

 

Freshman

Lathrop 2, Franklin 0

Lathrop held on for the 25-12, 26-24 sweep.

Juliet Tara came up one ace shy of a double-double and dished out 10 assists. Lanayah Denson and Elsa Johnson hammered three and two kills, respectively. Ariannah Sheel picked up four digs.
