After doing her best to keep Sierra High in its matchup against Argonaut with eight solid innings of pitching, Sommer Wilson decided to end it for good when she connected on a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth for a 8-5 Sierra win Thursday.

Wilson was the big hitter in Sierra’s 10-hit attack, finishing the contest 2-for-3 with a walk and a hit by pitch. Wilson was as effective in the circle, holding Argonaut to just seven hits and striking out four in the complete-game win.

The Timberwolves had three players rack up multiple hits, with Julie Deanda leading the way with a 3-for-4 day. Iyana Hughes was 2-for-4 with a walk and a RBI and Katelynn Perkins had a hit and a pair of walks.

Sierra (9-0) will be off until the Valley Oak League opener Tuesday when they meet up with the Oakdale Mustangs. The travel to Oakdale and first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
