RIPON – Hilmar’s grind-it-out offense kept the Ripon offense off the field for most of the first half Thursday as the Yellowjackets limited the Indians to just 11 first-half plays on the way to a 32-8 Southern League freshman road win at Stouffer Field.
Ripon finally got its offense in sync in the fourth quarter with a scoring drive capped by a 34-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Codde (2 of 3 passing, 54 yards) to Cade Kiser (two receptions, 54 yards) with a conversion run from Larell Fountain-Gilbert. Aiden Krupa picked up 37 yards on 12 carries for the Indians.
Ricardo Ochoa led Ripon with 10 tackles. Krupa, Garrett Paxton and Christopher Cavazos added five stops each and Codde and Logan Rines had four a piece.
