STOCKTON – Edison scored three runs in the first and another in the second and hung on for a 4-2 win over Weston Ranch Tuesday afternoon.
Angelysa Washington went the distance for the Cougars (0-5), striking out five.
Serena Hernandez went 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and first-inning homerun.
Hernandez scored two runs, one on a sacrifice fly from Washington.
“It was a huge improvement from the Ceres Tournament,” Cougars head coach Melanie Berezay said. “we looked like a totally different team.”
Weston Ranch travels to Edison for the back half of the home-and-home Friday.
