Ascanio, Curletta lead the way for Modesto

SAN BERNARDINO,  (AP) — Rayder Ascanio was a triple short of the cycle, scoring three runs while driving in two as the Modesto Nuts topped the Inland Empire 66ers 12-6 on Thursday.
Joey Curletta singled three times with three runs for Modesto.
Modesto scored in six different innings in the victory, including the fifth, when it scored four runs, including a single by Logan Taylor that scored Curletta.
Modesto starter Anthony Misiewicz (5-2) picked up the win despite allowing five runs and nine hits over five innings. Opposing starter Austin Robichaux (1-3) took the loss in the California League game after a rough outing in which he allowed eight runs and nine hits over 4 1/3 innings.
