Garcia, Arenado lift San Jose over Modesto

MODESTO (AP) — Aramis Garcia doubled and singled twice, driving in a run and also scoring one as the San Jose Giants beat the Modesto Nuts 8-3 on Tuesday.
Jonah Arenado doubled and singled twice with three RBIs and a pair of runs for San Jose.
Modesto cut the deficit to 4-2 in the fourth after Gianfranco Wawoe hit a sacrifice fly and Joey Curletta hit an RBI double.
The Giants extended their lead in the seventh inning when Arenado hit a two-run single.
San Jose southpaw Mark Reyes (3-8) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on six hits over six innings. Opposing starter Nick Neidert (5-3) took the loss in the California League game after giving up four runs and nine hits over five innings.
Curletta doubled twice, also stealing a base for the Nuts.
