MODESTO (AP) — Anthony Jimenez hit a walk-off single, as the Modesto Nuts defeated the Visalia Rawhide 1-0 on Thursday.

Bryson Brigman scored the game-winning run after he led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on an error.

Modesto starter Darren McCaughan struck out five and walked one while allowing five hits over seven scoreless innings. Seth Elledge (3-0) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Robby Sexton (0-2) took the loss in the California League game.

The Rawhide were blanked for the fourth time this season, while the Nuts’ staff recorded their second shutout of the year.
