Bob Kirkbride, 63, of Manteca scored a double eagle on the Par 5 13th at the Manteca Park Golf Course Wednesday.

“He was in the hole on his second shot, three under par on that hole,” Kirkbride’s wife, Ellen, said.

Kirkbride used a 5-wood from the fairway to sink the shot. Kirkbride finished the round with a 2-over-par 74.

Kirkbride’s wife and playing partner said he has been playing religiously for the past seven years, often  five to six days a week with his wife, along with John and Carolyn Gaynor.

Ellen said that Bob scored two hole-in-ones on back to back holes last year at Manteca Park and another at Mickey’s Grove in Lodi the next day.

The Kirkbrides have lived in Manteca for 21 years.  Bob is retired from the Pleasanton School District.
