Wawoes single leads Modesto to win over Lancaster

LANCASTER (AP) — Gianfranco Wawoe hit a two-run single in the ninth inning, leading the Modesto Nuts to a 15-13 win over the Lancaster JetHawks on Tuesday.
Spencer Herrmann struck Roberto Ramos out with a runner on third to end the game for his first save of the season.
The single by Wawoe, part of a four-run inning, tied the game 13-13 before Eric Filia hit a two-run single later in the inning.
Matt Walker (2-0) got the win in relief while Salvador Justo (2-4) took the loss in the California League game.
In the losing effort, Brendan Rodgers, Sam Hilliard and Yonathan Daza each had three hits for Lancaster. The JetHawks also hit a season-high four home runs.
With the win, Modesto remains undefeated (4-0) against Lancaster this season.
