Buff freshmen roll to VOL win

Manteca racked up 340 yards on Thursday and outscored host Oakdale 14-0 in the final period to defeat the Mustangs 36-20 in freshman football action at The Corral. 

Leo Bonilla ground out 81 yards on 11 carries and scored from 2, 2, and 8 yards out to pace the Buffaloes. Jacob Dejesus (seven carries for 105 yards) scored on a 47-yard touchdown run for Manteca and Trabron Russell (10 carries, 78 yards) had a 1-yard touchdown run. Dom Rea added 76 yards on 10 carries. 

Gabe Ramirez led the Manteca defense with 10 tackles. Gerrin Genilla (pass defense) and Bonilla added five stops and Rea (interception) had three.

Victor Murillo and Steven Eaves combined for two first-quarter touchdown passes for the Timberwolves in the non-league contest at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium. 

With 8:01 left in the first quarter Eaves pulled in a 69-yard toss from Murillo for a 7-6 lead and later in the period Eaves scored on a 32-yard throw from Murillo to go ahead 14-6. 

After that, the superior size of the Titans wore down Sierra and the Timberwolves were held scoreless the rest of the way
