The White Sox pounded out three hits to start the fifth inning Wednesday and took advantage of two Brewers errors to put up three runs in the frame to come from behind and post a 7-5consolation win in the Northgate Little League major tournament.

Carlos Alvarez (2 for 3, two doubles) started the White Sox fifth with a ground-rule double and while stealing third the ball sailed into left field, allowing Alvarez to score. Alex Duenas followed Alvarez with a double, advanced to third on an error and came home on Dennis Crum’s single. Crum stole his way around the bases to score the game’s last run.

The Brewers took a 5-4 lead in the top of the fifth when Colin Ivey hit a hard infield grounder with the bases loaded that was misplayed, scoring Luke Weaver, Ben Supinger and Dominic Garcia. Weaver scored the other two Brewers runs – in the third on a single by Supinger and in the sixth on an error.

The White Sox scored three in the third behind an Alvarez double, a single by Crum (2 for 3, two RBI), a double by Nicco Cedolini (2 for 3, double, RBI) and a Brewers error. Cedolini scored the other White Sox run after leading off the second with a ground-rule double and coming home on an error off the bat of Jacob Lee.
