Lions dominate Cowboys varsity, starts in DYSA

TRACY – In a battle of undefeated teams the East County Lions blanked the Manteca Cowboys in the second half Saturday to win the DYSA Varsity Super Bowl 32-6 at West High’s Steve Lopez Stadium.

Dennis Crum had six carries for 74 yards and the only Manteca touchdown on a 7-yard run in the second quarter. Henry Palacios added 10 carries for 80 yards.

Aiden Twiggs led the Cowboys defense with seven tackles. Angelo Lopez and Donnie Barclift chipped in four tackles apiece.

The Lions remained undefeated while handing the Cowboys their first loss.

Christopher Gallego, Robbie Espinosa and Nate Cedolini paced the Manteca offense.

Cedolini had 10 tackles followed by Christopher Gallego and Anthony Oteri with eight stops and Jacob Paris, Koa Rodrigues and Gabriel Lopez with five apiece.
